Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast at your Hotel in Kampala, you will be met by our company representative who will transfer you to Murchison falls National Park via Masindi town. En route, visit the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for a guided nature walk to see the Rhinos. Proceed and have lunch in Masindi town.  You will then enter the Park through the Kichumbanyobo gate and upon arrival; you will visit the Top of the falls where the Park derives its name. At the top of the falls, you will see water exploding through a narrow gorge and flows down to become a placid river whose banks are thronged with a variety of animals and bird species. Dinner and overnight stay at accommodation of your choice.

Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, you will set out for the morning game drive in the Northern sector of the Park. Look out for some of the big Five animals such as Lions, Elephants, Buffaloes and if you are L

lucky, you will be able to see Leopards. You will also be able to see animals such as Rothschild giraffe, Warthogs, Waterbucks, Bushbucks and also other Antelopes. Return back for lunch and in the afternoon, experience the 3 hours launch cruise along the Nile. This will get you close to the bottom of the falls and en route, you will be able to see a variety of Hippos, Crocodiles, and a lot of other animals alongside the river banks. If you are lucky, you can also spot the rare shoe bill stork and other variety of bird species in the area. Dinner and overnight stay at accommodation of your choice.

Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park – Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, you will set off for your long drive from Murchison falls to Kibale Forest National Park. En route, you will stopover for lunch in Hoima and reach fort portal town in the afternoon. The journey will offer you with stunning scenic views of the Rift Valley and also local homesteads for the Bunyoro and Batooro Kingdoms. Dinner and overnight stay at accommodation of your choice depending on the budget.

Day 4: Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast, you will head to the Park headquarters at Kanyachu for chimpanzee tracking briefing by the Park Rangers. After this, you will be accompanied by the Ranger Guide into the forest to search for the Chimpanzee which are Man’s closest Cousins. Kibale Forest is not only home to the chimps but also to other 12 species of primates including the red colobus and L’hoests monkeys, Varvet Monkeys, Red Tailed Monkeys, baboons and so on. You will experience how the chimps feed and interact with each other. Return back to your lodge for lunch and in the afternoon set out for the Nature walk in Bigodi swamp. Here you will enjoy various bird species and also other primates. Bigodi is considered as a bird watchers paradise because of the very many bird species that can be viewed from the swamp. Return back tom your Lodge for dinner and overnight stay .

Day 5: Kibale Forest National Park – Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you will drive to Queen Elizabeth National park. The journey will take you through the historical Kasese town with a clear view of the Rwenzori Mountains. As you enter the Park, you will have a game drive en route.  Proceed with your journey to Mweya for a guided nature walk in the Maramagambo forest for primate watching and visits to the bat cave and the blue lake. Dinner and overnight stay at accommodation of your choice.

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you will set out for the morning game drive in the Kasenyi area. Here look out for animals such as the Lions, Buffaloes, Leopard, Elephants, Kobs, Antelopes, Spotted Hyena and the elusive giant forest hog. Return to your accommodation for lunch.  In the afternoon, set out for the Launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel. This will give you the opportunity to view wildlife up close such as hippos, buffalos and a variety of birds’ species on  the shores of the channel including pink backed pelicans, pied and malachite kingfishers, saddle billed stork and many others. After this wonderful afternoon, take a slow drive back to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Queen Elizabeth National Park-  Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

After breakfast, you will transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park via the southern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park known as the Ishasha sector which is commonly known for the rare tree climbing lions in Fig and acacia trees. From here you will be able to spot the tree climbing lions and also other animals in the area. Proceed with your journey to Bwindi reaching in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at accommodation of your choice.

Day 8: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

 

Before 8:00am, you will have breakfast and then transfer to the Ranger station for a briefing and guidance of the activity. After this, you will be accompanied by armed ranger guides in the forest to search for the Mountain Gorillas. You will pass through the forest, slashing at the undergrowth, parting thick creepers, to track gorillas. The time taken to track the Gorillas is unpredictable since it depends on their movements in search for food and shelter. However, it can take from 2 to 9 hours. Upon reaching the Gorillas, you will have one hour with them and this will enable you to sit down and watch them as they interact with each other, communicate and you are also free to take photographs and Videos. Return back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay

Day 9: Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, you will set out for different number of activities allocated on this day. You can opt to visit the local markets in Kabale and also the Bakiga Cultural Museum, visit the different dairy farms and plantations. You can also visit the Batwa community on one of the Islands for a cultural tour and historical experience of these shortest People. Return back to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay .

Day 10: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park – Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast, you will set out for a community walk around Buhoma and then later transfer to Lake Bunyonyi via Kabale or the Switzerland of Africa. Lake Bunyonyi derived its name from the many birds that used to inhabit the lake. This is the deepest lake in Uganda and the 2nd deepest in Africa. Upon arrival, you will take a canoe ride to the various Islands found on the Lake. Return back to the mainland in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 11: Lake Bunyonyi – Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, you will transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. The scenic drive will take you through the Kabale region which is known as the Switzerland of Africa because of its topography full of hills and highlands. You will have lunch en route in Mbarara town and then later enter the Park through the Nshara gate. Upon arriving in the Park you will go for the boat ride on Lake Mburo. Look out for animals like Hippos, crocodiles and so on. Dinner and overnight stay at accommodation of your choice.

Day 12: Lake Mburo National Park – Kampala

After breakfast, you will go for the morning breakfast with in the park to search for animals like the herds of Zebra, Impala, Eland and other savannah species. Also look out for bird species like African Fin foot, Papyrus, Bush Shrike and so on. Later transfer back to Kampala with lunch en route at the equator. Drop off at the Hotel or at the Airport.
