This is one of the most unique wildlife and primate experiences in Uganda. This 9 days Uganda safari is filled with unforgettable memories to amazing tourist destinations beginning with Murchison Falls, where the mighty River Nile explodes through a narrow gorge and flows down to become a placid river whose banks are thronged with abundant wildlife ,  ideal for  game viewing .Our next destination is Kibale  Forest , mainly for Chimpanzee trekking but also involves bird watching and nature walks. Heading further south west is Queen Elizabeth, Uganda’s most popular tourist destination with diverse ecosystems which make it the ideal habitat for classic big game, ten primate species including chimpanzees and over 600 species of birds. Our safari then proceeds to Bwindi National park for various adventure activities including mountain gorilla tracking, bird watching and nature walks. You can also explore the culture of the local Bakiga and Batwa communities with village walks, blacksmith visits, craft shops and vibrant dances in Bwindi. This Uganda safari ends in Lake Bunyonyi, a bird watcher’s haven and a private place for retreats and a wonderful place to relax in nature.

Entebbe – Murchison Falls National Park

Depart early morning taking a panoramic drive north-west through the famous Luwero Triangle to Murchison Falls National Park. You will drive through impressive flat landscapes of central Uganda including the district of Nakasongora before branching off at Nakitooma for 7km to connect to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Upon arriving in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, you will embark on a thrilling White Rhino tracking to encounter the fifteen southern white Rhinos that comprise of the adults and young ones. Rhinos are part of the big five of land animals and exploring them on foot is a rewarding encounter that you can explore on this Uganda safari. Continue on the drive to Murchison, arriving in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight)

Day 2: Murchison Falls National Park

Early morning, go for your Game drive on time to cross River Nile with Ferry and go for a game drive in search for predators and early risers on the Northern bank of the Nile. You may have a chance to see game like hyenas, giraffes, Lions, birds, Hartebeests, buffalos, elephants, primates among others and  different species of birds. After the game drive return to the camp for lunch. In the afternoon go for a launch cruise on the great Victoria Nile to the Bottom of the falls. The boat ride will reward you with water game like hippos, crocodiles, elephants and plenty of birds dashing and walking along the banks. Dinner and overnight as above .

Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park – Kibale National Park.

After breakfast, embark on your journey to Kibale National Park via the Lake Albert escarpment, having a good view of the Lake. Have a stopover in Hoima for lunch then proceed across the interesting river Nkusi, passing through traditional Ugandan Villages arriving in the afternoon.During the afternoon we have time to visit the scenic crater lakes region, checking out the superbly terraced tea estates. In the south of Fort Portal is Kasenda Crater Lakes region. It sits on the rim of Lake Nyinambuga—the back of the main building looks down over the lake, while the other side of the lodge looks out over another lake in the distance and, further off, the Rwenzori Mountains, which were perpetually shrouded in the clouds, except early in the morning. There’s plenty to do in this area and we can also take an hour’s walk around Lake Nyinambuga. Diner and overnight.

Day 4: Kibale National Park – Queen Elizabeth National Park

Report to the Park Headquarters Ranger station for a short briefing for your chimp trekking. You will be briefed about the whole process of tracking and then you will head along the tracks in the forest to search for chimpanzees. The walk through the park will be guided providing information about not only on chimpanzees but also on flora and fauna. You will then meet the chimpanzees and spend some time watching them feed and making their calls. If you are lucky to find them hunting this is the best time, as you watch them share the meat amongst themselves. After tracking you will have lunch and later drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park and get there by evening. Dinner and overnight at Lodge.

Day 5: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Wake up before sunrise to a cup of tea or a glass of water and then set off to the park tracks for a game drive to be able to see predators as they return to their hide outs and the early risers. During the drive watch out for game like the Leopards, Lions, giant forest hogs, hyenas, Uganda kobs, warthogs and others. After the game drive you will drive back to your  accommodation for breakfast and then later have lunch and  transfer for your afternoon Boat Cruise on the Kazinga Channel. The launch trip takes you along the Kazinga channel that connects Lakes George and Edward will reward you with game like Hippos, elephants and buffaloes at the shores not forgetting plenty of birds. Dinner and overnight as above.

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast and check out from your accommodation, we proceed to Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth for game drives in search for the tree climbing lions. Optionally, we may go go in search for the chimpanzees in Kyambura Gorge Wildlife Reserve. We then head south to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to approximately half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas arriving late in the evening at our accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park 

This morning you will have to wake up very early for breakfast and to get ready for the most thrilling activity of Gorilla tracking! Gorilla tracking in Bwindi can be challenging, therefore ensure fitness. Report at the ranger station at 8:00am with your lunch boxes and all the necessary gear where the guides will take you to track the rare Mountain Gorilla, perhaps one of the most exciting wildlife experiences on earth. Gorilla tracking in Bwindi can take between a few hours or the whole day depending on the group that is being tracked. The guides describe the surroundings and the lifestyle of the animals in depth. The walk is tiresome. However, meeting these great apes and spending some time with them while looking deep into their expressive brown eyes will be worth your while .After tracking, you can relax at your accommodation or go for a guided village walk to visit the Local Batwa Community returning in time for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park – Lake Bunyonyi

After breakfast and check out from your accommodation, you will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale. Lake Bunyonyi is a stopover to and from Gorilla tracking, a bird watcher’s haven, and a private place for retreats.  This small island is peaceful, safe, natural, and particularly intriguing to day-visitors and families, and a special hide-out for the weary traveller.  The perfect location to get away from it all, Lake Bunyonyi is a wonderful place to relax in nature.  The green hills and papyrus swamps offer many opportunities for bird watching and Eucalyptus trees provide quiet place to sit and read a book. Take a boat ride on the lake to visit neighboring pygmy tribes and get to know their unique culture. Dinner and Overnight .

Day 9: Lake Bunyonyi  – Entebbe 

An early breakfast, depart from Lake Bunyonyi through Mbarara town, stop at either   Masaka / Equator for your souvenir shopping, photo shooting and possibly tea/ coffee break or lunch. Transfer to Entebbe airport on time for your check in flight back home.
